Rheem Tankless Water Heater Installation & Replacement in Las Vegas

At Water Heaters Today LLC, we specialize in Rheem Tankless Installation & Replacement. We don’t just hang the unit on the wall; we engineer the system to work. Whether you are replacing an old tank with the ultra-efficient Rheem Ikonic™ or swapping out a dead tankless unit, we install the Professional Prestige® series – equipment built to handle the demands of the desert.

Keep Your Home's Rheem Tankless System in Top Shape

Switching to tankless is an upgrade, but in Las Vegas, it’s not as simple as swapping a box. If you don’t account for our hard water and specific gas pressure requirements, a high-efficiency machine becomes a high-maintenance nightmare.

A tankless water heater is a miniature power plant. It needs perfect gas pressure, clean air, and treated water to function. The “retail” units sold at big-box stores often lack the internal durability to handle Las Vegas water hardness (>180 mg/L) for the long haul.

Water Heaters Today LLC is your local Rheem Tankless Specialist. We install Rheem Tankless Models like the Professional Prestige® and Ikonic™ condensing models that feature stainless steel heat exchangers, which are far more resistant to scale buildup than the copper heat exchangers found in cheaper models.

We don’t waste time; we assess your gas line size, your venting, and your water quality to ensure you get “endless hot water,” not endless error codes.

Signs Your Rheem Tankless Unit Needs Replacement

Tankless units last longer than tanks, but they are not immortal. If you skipped the annual descaling (flushing) required in Las Vegas, your heat exchanger is likely calcified.

Signs could easily be:

  • Error Code 12 (Flame Failure): This often means the heat exchanger is so clogged with scale that the unit cannot transfer heat, causing it to shut down to prevent melting. This is often a terminal failure.
  • Error Code 11 (Ignition Failure): If your unit tries to light but fails repeatedly, the gas valves or igniters may be worn out.
  • Reduced Water Flow: If your shower pressure drops when the hot water turns on, the internal filters or heat exchanger channels are choked with sediment.
  • Leaking from the Case: A leak inside a tankless unit usually means acidic condensate has eaten through the metal. This requires immediate replacement.
  • “Cold Water Sandwich”: If you get a blast of cold water in the middle of a shower, your old unit lacks the modern recirculation technology found in the new Rheem Ikonic™ series.

How We Install & Replace Your Rheem Tankless Unit

Installing a tankless unit in Las Vegas is a construction project, not just a plumbing repair. We adhere to strict protocols that “handymen” ignore.

  • Gas Supply Upgrade: We verify your gas line can deliver the 199,000 BTUs required. If you have a 1/2″ line, we use specific Rheem models compatible with that flow or upgrade your piping to 3/4″ to prevent code failures.
  • Service Valves (Isolation Kit): We always install isolation valves. Without these, you cannot flush the unit to remove scale, and your warranty will be voided within a year.
  • Venting Upgrades: We replace dangerous metal B-Vent with the required PVC or Polypropylene venting for condensing units.

Condensate Management: We install a condensate neutralizer to treat the acidic water the unit produces before it enters your home’s drain pipes, protecting your plumbing from corrosion.

Our Commitment to Quality Rheem Tankless Services

At Water Heaters Today, we believe in transparency. We won’t sell you a tankless unit if your electrical system or gas meter can’t support it. Our team understands the specific Rheem Hot Start Programming™ that minimizes cold water bursts.

We set up the unit correctly from day one, including programming the altitude settings for the Las Vegas valley elevation. We use only durable, code-compliant mounting hardware and gas flex lines.

With our expertise, your Rheem tankless water heater will be registered for its warranty immediately. We provide the “Pro” grade hardware that allows for WiFi connectivity (EcoNet®), giving you control over your water temperature from your phone.

Have Any Questions?

Yes, but only if you maintain it. Las Vegas water (180+ mg/L hardness) will destroy a tankless heat exchanger in 2-3 years if you do not flush it. We install Isolation Valves on every unit so you (or we) can perform the mandatory annual vinegar flush to remove scale. If you aren’t willing to do this maintenance, we recommend sticking with a tank.

The unit is only half the equation. Tankless units require 3 to 4 times more gas than a standard tank. This often requires upgrading your gas piping. They also require dedicated electrical outlets, new stainless steel venting (you cannot use your old chimney vent), and condensate drains. The price includes the “retrofit” work to make your home compatible with the machine.

We install the Professional Prestige® series. These units often feature stainless steel heat exchangers (better for hard water), enhanced warranties that cover labor, and “built-in” recirculation pumps that retail models lack. Retail models often use copper heat exchangers which fail faster in Vegas water.

Possibly. A standard 50-gallon tank uses ~40,000 BTUs. A Rheem tankless uses ~199,000 BTUs. We perform a “load calculation” on your home to see if your current gas meter can handle the tankless unit plus your furnace and stove. If not, we advise you on contacting Southwest Gas for a meter upgrade.

We tell you the truth about tankless. While other companies might promise you “instant endless hot water” just to make a sale, we explain the reality of the “wait time” for hot water (unless you get a recirculation pump) and the necessity of gas upgrades. We are Rheem Pro Partners who know how to program the machine to handle Las Vegas summer groundwater temperatures and winter chills. When you choose us, you get a system that is engineered to work, not just installed to look good.
